Happy Valentine’s Day!
I love to decorate for the changing seasons and different holidays, but Valentine’s Day is one that I don’t typically pull out all of the stops for. It creeps up on me quickly and before I know the pink & red M&Ms are gone and I’m on to Shamrock Shakes. So, in an attempt to not miss the holiday completely, I’ve found a few simple crafts that are easy to set up around the house without disrupting any of my typical decor.
These simple letter blocks are made from a 2×6 and some scrapbook paper. Just cut the wood to your desired size. Mine are all the same height, but varying widths.
Then, paint the wood any color you want! When the wood is dry, bring out your trusty Mod Podge and you’re on the home stretch! Simple, right? These letters were cut using a Cricut machine, but you could use any kind of stencil over the top of the scrapbook paper.
And, for no real effort other than sending some paper through a printer, you can have an adorable pennant banner! I am in love with these printables from Shanty 2 Chic.
They’re easy to download – each letter is its own file – so you can make any word you can imagine! I just love the HEART shape, so naturally I spelled out the word love.
These banners are also great for parties; this one in particular has made an appearance at several bridal showers I’ve helped host.
Don’t you agree, a little DIY love is all you need to spruce up your home for February 14th?
